COE publishes azeri-prepared documents

A Milli Mejlis delegation has submitted a number of documents to the plenary session of the COE Parliamentary Assembly underway in Strasbourg. The documents are available to local and foreign journalists at the COE Documents Room.
Azeri MP Gultakin Hajiyeva has submitted an address entitled "Armenia must recognize Azerbaijan's territorial integrity" to the COE Committee of Ministers, urging it to force Armenia to honor one of the fundamental principles of international law, territorial integrity and sovereignty of states, and withdraw from the occupied Azeri territories.
Another interesting document has been prepared by a renowned publicist, MP Rafael Husseinov. It is called "Capture and destruction of cultural monuments of Azerbaijan" and says that Armenia has occupied 20% of Azerbaijan's territory, caused immense damage to the country's national and cultural heritage. The document indicates that as a result of Armenian aggression, ancient burial mounds in Khojali, unique relics of the Bronze Age, have been destroyed.
The "Ecological situation in Azerbaijan" document is written by Samad Seyidov. In addition to voicing his concerns over plundering of some wild refuges with unique flora and fauna in the occupied Azeri lands, the author recalls of the jeopardy posed by the atomic power station in Armenia, which threatens not just the Caucasus, but the entire Eastern Europe.
All the documents have been published on behalf of the COE and will remain in effect as historical documents to be used as bottom-line in preparation of more serious documents and resolutions, according to the "Khalg Gazeti" correspondent in France Zaur Sadiqbayli.
