FIFA, UEFA ad hoc mission to probe Azeri football

The FIFA and UEFA are finally sending an ad hoc mission to probe the months long Azeri football crisis.

The mission led by the FIFA vice-president Anjel Villa Leone is expected to meet with Azeri football clubs and officials from the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Tourism.

The delegation will reportedly include FIFA executive committee member Vyacheslav Koloskov and UEFA manager Marcello Bents

Azeri football plunged into a crisis in April with national team coach Kazbek Tuayev accusing President of the Association of Football Federations Fuad Musayev of converting soccer into his personal business and arranging shady matches. The scandal ended up with Tuayev’s resignation and a break off in the national championship.*
