Azeri chess player in leading group

Azeri chess player Sahriyar Mammadyarov has caught up with the leaders, his countryman Vuqar Hasimov and the Georgian player Zviad Izori after six tours in the European Junior Chess Cup in Baku. Now, the three are leading with 4,5 points each.

Leading among girls is the Georgian chess player Nana Dzagnidze, scoring 5,5 points. Zeynab Mammadyarova, who won Georgian player Nino Batsashvili in the sixth match, has shown the best result among Azeri girls with 4,5 points.

The championship will close on 24 July.*
