Azeri clerical leader gets Russian award

The Caucasus Clerical Office chairman, Sheikh Allahshukur Pashazada has been conferred with Russia’s high award, Order of Friendship, according to a recent decree issued by President Vladimir Putin.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov presented the award at Pashazada’s residence on Tuesday.

The Order marks the clerical leader’s contribution to strengthening friendship and cooperation among peoples, developing inter-cultural and inter-religious dialogue and improving mutual understanding in the region.

Pashazada termed the Order as the award of all believers in the Caucasus.*
