Violations found in two medical centers

The Ministry of Health has found irregularities in two medical institutions of Azerbaijan.

Shortfalls were found at the Fitness and Beauty Center (Vital Clinic) LLC where accounting documents were not in compliance with statistical forms. It was ascertained that surgeries were carried out at the center though it was licensed to provide only out-patient examinations and treatment, health officials said.

The activity of the Center was suspended following the inspection. The Ministry of Health said the center may resume its activity if the drawbacks are removed within 10 days.

The operation of Medservice Medical Center LLC also turned out to be unsatisfactory, according to an inspection carried out by a commission under the Health Ministry. The check-up found improper selection of personnel at the medical center. Its director has been instructed to take urgent steps to eliminate the irregularities.

This follows the closure of privately-owned Funda and Diamed medical centers over violations several weeks ago.*
