World NGO Association to open office in Baku

The World Association of Non-governmental Organizations within the UN will open an office in Baku in 2005. The General Secretary of the Association is expected to attend the opening ceremony.

A decision on opening an office in Baku was made at a conference entitled “The role of NGOs in reviving the troubled world”, organized by the Association in Budapest, Hungary on October 21-25, a source from the “Simurg” Azerbaijan Cultural Association (ACA) said.

The conference was attended by Azerbaijani NGO representatives and President of the ACA Fuad Mammadov.
