MUSAVAT LEADER TO VISIT UKRAINE
The chairman of the Musavat party Isa Gambar told journalists Monday that he was going to visit Ukraine shortly on the invitation of some political parties.
During the visit, the Musavat leader is expected to hold meetings and discussions with the political community of the country. Mr. Gambar denied, however, to provide details of the upcoming visit.
OPPOSITION URGES TO KEEP ARMENIA RESPONSIBLE
The pro-Musavat DemCongress issued a statement Monday urging the authorities to keep Armenia responsible in front of international organizations.
The statement is believed to have been caused by Armenian defense minister's threat to annex 7 more Azeri provinces. The threat came after the public discussions of ways of solution to the Garabagh problem in the Milli Mejlis and elevated military spirit of the Azeri society that followed it.
The statement regards the allegations by an Armenian official as a demonstrative violation of the commitments Armenia has taken concerning denunciation of arms and as the country's reluctance to further renounce aggression.
Democratic People's Party joins Civil Unity Party
The Azerbaijan Democratic People's Party (ADPP) announced Wednesday that it is joining the Civil Unity Party headed by Ayaz Mutallibov. The statement says that ADPP is not a member of any blocs, but, having analyzed the political developments in the country, decided that the two parties are struggling for the same goals and objectives, pursue the same political course outlined by Azerbaijan's first president Ayaz Mutallibov, according to a source from ADPP.
