Ecological hot line at work
The Ministry for Ecology and Natural Resources has set up a hot line in a move to expand environmental relations with the public and enterprises and acquire regular ecological updates.
The round-the-clock service will be getting data on ecological irregularities and documenting them in a special book.
The anonymity of those who will inform serious ecological breaches at 39-18-63 and 38-13-35 is guaranteed if necessary.

Ecology workshop over
The workshop "The environment and we: problems pertaining to municipality-NGO cooperation" was closed at the Abseron Hotel of Baku Friday, as the highlights were air contamination in Sumgayit due to chemical production.
With chlorine, caustic soda and other chemical products, the air is polluted with an annual portion of about 600 tons of mercury wastes. A landfill will be built 15km off Sumgayit to bury mercury affected lands, according to head of the Restoration of Sumgayit Ecology research association Arif Islamzada.
