SOCAR ANNOUNCES GEOPHYSICAL TENDER
SOCAR has announced an open tender for purchase of materials and equipment for geophysical operations at its own expenses. The company intends to purchase explosive shells in the first lot, 299 kilometer well logging cables in the second, spare parts for lifting cranes in the third, and three regional seismic stations in the fourth.
Bidders may apply to the Department of Foreign Economic Relations of SOCAR after paying a participation fee of 100 to 200 dollars depending on the lots.
Bids will be received before July 24, 2002.
UKRAINIAN ENERGY EXPERTS LOOKING INTO BIDDING
Specialists from Ukrainian state Ukrinterenergo have arrived in Baku to study possibilities of participation in the construction of the 9th energy block in the Mingacevir power station, Azerenergy joint-stock company told AssA-Irada Monday.
The Ukrainian experts are expected to meet with Azerenergy specialists and explore the present situation of the energy block.
According to Ukrinterenergo deputy director Vasiliy Gorbakon, the company is interested in the project, which is a priority for Azerbaijan.
Work on the 9th block of the Mingacevir power plant was performed to 70-75 per cent in Soviet times and needs parts manufactured in Russia and the Ukraine. Thus, Azerenergy is planning to announce this year a list of contenders, including Russian Common Energy System, Energomashexport, Mosenergomontazh, Technopromexport, Electrosila, the Chinese National Corporation, German KAB Gubh, and Ukrinterenergo.
