Pro-musavat demcongress hails Paris talks
The pro-Musavat Democratic Congress has focused on the outcomes of the Paris meeting of Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia.
Following a meeting on Tuesday, the Musavat chairman Isa Gambar told a news briefing that preliminary information from Paris are regarded as positive. "We think this stage in negotiations very crucial but yet incomplete", he said.
Particularly reassuring is French President Jacques Chirac's statement that the Armenian-Azerbaijan conflict will be resolved before the end of this year.
However, Mr. Gambar believes that the threat of loss of Azeri lands is still there.
"I think the potential for peaceful solution has not been exhausted yet", he said.
According to his prediction, the OSCE will start making new proposals, while the Armenian and Azeri Presidents will be offered to continue their meetings. There is a lot of work in store for the Minsk Group. In general, this year will be very difficult, Mr. Gambar concluded.
