CE MINISTERS TO FOCUS ON COMBATING INT'L TERRORISM
A session of the Ministerial Committee of the Council of Europe is due in Prague on May 2-3. It will mull the combat against international terrorism, Azerbaijan's delegate to the Council of Europe Agshin Mehdiyev told journalists Wednesday. Lithuania is expected to transfer the committee chairmanship to Luxembourg in the session.
FOURTH INT'L ENERGY & ECOLOGY CONGRESS IN BAKU
The fourth international congress "Energy, ecology, economy" is due in Baku on May 28 - June 2. Earlier, the International Ecoenergy Academy was planning to hold the congress in the US last year, but eventually postponed it following the September 11 attacks.
Participants in the forum from Azeri authorities and foreign companies will focus on a wide range of problems pertaining to production, storage and utilization of power, as well as standards and legislation in the area.
The biannual first "Energy, ecology, economy" congress was held in Baku in 1997.
PA CE REPORTERS TO VISIT BAKU IN JUNE
The reporters of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe for Azerbaijan are expected to arrive in Baku in June. They will also travel to Upper Garabagh, Azerbaijan's integral part, where they must go through Baku, but not Yerevan on the request of the Azeri Speaker Murtuz Askarov.
