PRESIDENT TO VISIT ASTANA
The first summit of the Organization for Interaction and Measures of Confidence in Asia is due in Astana, Kazakhstan, November 8-10.
The Kazakh ambassador to Azerbaijan Rashid Ibrayev told journalists Monday that heads of 17 states, including President Aliyev, are expected to take part in the summit. The parties are expected to sign a document regulating relations among the Organization member-states. The document will reaffirm the aspiration and good will of Asian nations to establish lasting security and stability in the region.
GUUAM SUMMIT DUE IN YALTA
Another meeting of presidents of GUUAM (Georgia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Moldova) will be held in Yalta on the suggestion of Ukraine, according to the Ukrainian foreign minister Anatoly Zlenko. The exact date of the visit remains to be set. The previous GUUAM summit was held also in Yalta.
ANTI-MONOPOLIST CONTROL TO BE EXERCISED
The Ministry for Economic Development has established an anti-monopolist control over goods and services in order to stamp out unfair competition. So far, market researches targeting 23 categories of goods have been carried out and 50 criminal cases started. The measure is expected to promote private sector development and raise its share in GDP.
