NEW PRO-MUSAVAT PARTY TO HOLD CONGRESS IN SPRING
A new party, "Modern Musavat", is being set up. Currently the party is undergoing the period of formation, while in March-April it will hold a constituent congress. The name of the party may change, but it will contain the word "Musavat" anyway, chairman of the organizing committee Panah Mammadov told Azernews Monday.
According to him, the party will be in opposition to the regime and will not be funded from abroad. Mr. Mammadov considers it right for the opposition parties elected to the parliament to take part in its sessions. He did not rule out that his party would cooperate with such entities.
Regarding relations with the Musavat party, Mr. Mammadov said the new party does not plan to compete or fight against Musavat. The ideas of Musavat are not anyone's property, they belong to the nation. Nevertheless, he criticized the Musavat party for repeating the mistakes of the regime.
