PRESIDENT TO FORWARD DRAFT LAW ON OIL AND GAS TO PARLIAMENT

A working group has completed work on the draft law "On oil and gas" and the document is currently under consideration at the President's office, says chairperson of the permanent parliamentary commission on natural resources, energy and ecology Asya Manafova.

According to her, the draft bill will be forwarded to the parliament by the president.

The spring session agenda of the commission includes discussion of draft laws "On protection of atmospheric air", "On regulation of prices on energy resources", as well as changes and amendments to 21 laws.

RESIDENTS TO BE COMPENSATED FOR AIR POLLUTION

All physical and legal entities, Azerbaijan nationals, expatriates and persons without nationality have equal rights for receiving compensation for the damage sustained as a result of environment pollution. This is promulgated by the draft law "On protection of atmospheric air" discussed Tuesday by the permanent commission of the Milli Mejlis on natural resources, energy and ecology.

The draft law, comprising 7 parts and 30 articles, says that environmental programs and activities are funded from the state budget, local budgets and out-of-budget funds.

The commission has decided to forward the draft law "On protection of the atmospheric air" to the Milli Mejlis for the second hearing.
