THE HAJIBAYOV HOUSE-MUSEUM TURNS 25

Renowned men of art and culture attended an official ceremony Monday dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the House-Museum of a renowned Azeri composer Uzeyir Hajibayov.

Minister of Culture Polad Bul-Bul Oglu spoke of the history of the museum and its exponents. He then spoke highly of the museum staff. Visitors highlighted U. Hajibayov`s contribution to the development of the Azerbaijan classical music and the place he holds in the history of Azerbaijan.

In conclusion, a children`s quartet of the museum and people`s artist of the USSR Lutfiyar Imanov performed the outstanding composer`s works.

STILL LIFE EXHIBITION OPENS

An exhibition of still lives opened at the "Azerbaijan Dunyasi" exhibition last Wednesday, featuring 25 works performed in oil, water color and paint.

Both experienced and young artists displayed their works, including Ali Ibadullayev and Oleg Ibrahimov, Altai Hajiyev and Nazim Rahmanov, Seid Ibrahimov and Davud Kazimov just to name a few.

Director of the gallery, a renowned artist Arif Husseinov displayed his own composition with pomegranates, performed in a graphical style.

The show will last for one month.
