PRESIDENT ALIYEV RECEIVES US AMBASSADOR
President Aliyev received US ambassador Ross Wilson Monday, as the US diplomat said he would leave Azerbaijan for the States immediately after the Independence Day celebrations in Baku on July 4. Mr. Wilson said he wished to discuss with President Aliyev some issues, especially those concerning the visit by OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs to the region next week. No details on the discussion of the co-chairs' trip were immediately available.

LATVIAN FOREIGN MINISTER's VISIT BEING PREPARED
Latvian foreign minister Indulis Berzinsh is expected to pay an official visit to Baku on July 9-10 to focus on prospects of bilateral political, economic and cultural relations with Azeri officials, foreign minister Vilayat Guliyev told journalists Tuesday.
Two new bilateral agreements will be signed during the visit, covering cooperation of foreign ministries and collaboration in transports.
Bilateral documents to be signed during the visit are being prepared, the source said. Min. Berzinsh is scheduled to meet with President Aliyev, foreign minister Guliyev and other government officials.

TURKISH STATE MINISTER EXPECTED IN BAKU
A Turkish government delegation led by state minister Abdulkhalig Cay is expected to pay a working visit to Baku this week. A source from Turkish embassy told Azernews that the parties are expected to focus on cooperation in commercial and economic spheres. Furthermore, the delegation will discuss with the Azeri government ways of eliminating the problems Turkish businessmen face in Azerbaijan.

WHAT DOES MG CO-CHAIRS' VISIT HOLD IN STORE?
Co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group will come to Baku on July 10 after visiting Yerevan and Khankandi, according to Foreign Minister Vilayat Guliyev. "We would like to know what proposals they are bringing and whether or not they have been accepted in Armenia", he said.
The Minister added that the co-chairs would also inform the parties to the conflict of their latest meetings in Malta and Bucharest.
The purpose of this visit is to stiffen the search for peace in the Garabagh conflict.

NO EARTHQUAKE THREAT IN THE OFFING
According to a well-known seismologist Elchin Khalilov, worldwide seismological activity will last till the end of this year. He added that no threat is being posed to Baku. He didn't rule out the possibility of minor quakes though, saying that they do not represent any danger.
