AZERBAIJAN-EU COMMITTEE TO MEET IN BAKU

A meeting of the Committee on cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union and a seminar are due in Baku on June 25-26.

The EU delegation will include the head of the EU Caucasus and Central Asia Department Timo Sumo, special representative for Azerbaijan, ambassador at large Renato Batti and others, according to a diplomatic source.

Standing for Azerbaijan in the events will be the vice-premier Abid Sharoifov and deputy foreign ministers Mahmud Mammadguliyev and Araz Azimov.

The parties are expected to focus on opportunities of expanding economic and political cooperation.

MUSAVAT LEADER TO VISIT JAPAN

The Musavat chairman Isa Gambar left for Japan on Tuesday on the invitation of the Sokakawa World Foundation.

This is going to be much of a fact-finding mission, I. Gambar has told journalists.

The visit will last till the end of June.

CO-OP PROGRAM TO BE SIGNED WITH IMF

A 3-year cooperation program with Azerbaijan will be approved by the IMF Board of Directors meeting on July 2, according to the Baku office of IMF. The same source said chances that the program will receive a go-ahead run very high.

During a latest visit by an IMF delegation to Azerbaijan, the agreement was reached to raise the Bank's credit amount to Azerbaijan by $15 million. A total of $105 million is to be allocated under the program.

MUSIC PARTY DUE IN NATIONAL PARK ON JUNE 21

Mayor's office of Baku, in cooperation with German, French and US embassies in Azerbaijan, are going to conduct a music party in the National Park from 8 till 12 p.m. on June 21. Mezcal-jazz-unit (France), American Voice (USA), Dervish and Beri Bakh (both Azerbaijan) will take part in the festivities, according to French embassy. The event is being sponsored by BP and Azeri Castel.
