Gov’t workers’ wages raised
President Aliyev decreed Thursday to raise the salaries of executive and judicial officials.
Since February of this year, the Prime Minister will be receiving 3 million manats a month, president's chief-of-staff 2,800,000 manats, first vice-premier 2,700,000 manats, vice-premiers and state counselors 2,600,000 manats, ministers, chairmen of state committees and other executive bodies, as well as Board Chairman of the National Bank 2,200,000 manats, their first deputies 1,600,000 manats and deputies 1,500,000 manats.
Pursuant to the decree, Mayor of Baku will be getting 2,200,000 manats per month, mayors of Sumgayit and Ganja 1,600,000 manats, mayors of smaller cities, executive heads of provinces, etc. from 1,200,000 till 1,500,000 manats, depending on population.
Salaries of president's office staff have been doubled, while those employed with institutions and organizations subordinate to the President's office and financed from the state budget will be getting 1.5 times more than before.
The Cabinet of Ministers has been instructed to introduce the new salary regulations, raise the wages of judicial workers 1.5-2 times and come up with suggestions on raising, within three months, the salaries of the law-enforcement bodies.
