THE WORLD IS GETTING CRAZY?

By Fazil Guney Editor-in-Cheif

Voters in one of France's provincial cities have elected a homosexual as mayor…

A Dutch church is giving blessings for the marriages of men with men and women with women…

A grantee in Baku is propagandizing homosexuality in press and on television…

I get frustrated when I hear such reports, as I keep asking myself, "Where is the mankind going? Is the world getting crazy?" Apart from ordinary people, I wonder why the priest in the mentioned Dutch church does not abide by Biblical canons and commandments when giving his blessing for a man-to-man marriage. Despite myself, I tend to think that if things go as they do now, homosexuals will gradually pervade the whole of Europe and then start infiltrating in other continents propagating the Sodom Sin.

I would not like this to look like an attack on European parliamentarians, as homosexuals have always been part of our lives: in the west, in the east and in the south alike. What I am more worried about is the fact that homosexuals want everyone to be like them, just like drug-addicts, prostitutes, alcoholics, etc.

In the past, kings, shahs and other rulers have always been opposed to the spread of homosexuality, today, however, if a city mayor is gay, he will prefer to see another mayor, and perhaps even the head of state, also gay. The threat posed to the rest of the world is that such people will cease to be in the minority much sooner than we expect. Nowadays they are opening the doors of the once closed gay clubs, have television programs, newspapers, magazines, which is all too dangerous for younger generations that still have choices to make. I am sure all the drug-addicts became what they are purely out of an interest…

It is no secret that those attracted to their own sex are believed to have to put up with an inferiority complex. Similarly, we can't expect a limping man to be a good high jumper. The point I am trying to make is that those advocating for an abnormal mode of life as opposed to the natural one must always remain in the minority and younger generations must be protected from precipitous decisions they are not mature enough to make.

One of the few requirements put forward to us by the Council of Europe was to recognize the rights of sexual minorities through the adoption of a corresponding law by the Azerbaijan parliament. Apart from homosexuals themselves, this requirement caused a sharp public outcry in the republic…

… The people of Azerbaijan have just shaken off the venomous dust of the communist past and taken to the west with "democracy" being our guiding light. Having wandered for years, we finally were admitted to the Council of Europe. At the door, however, we were stopped and demanded that our parliament recognize the rights of our sexual minorities. Otherwise, they said, forget about it.

There have been quite a few very funny sessions of the parliament already, but I am sure they could not have been as ridiculous as what are going to witness pretty soon.

When a law is usually put on discussion in parliament, representatives of relevant bodies are usually invited to give their recommendations and expertise. It appears that homosexuals will have to be invited to parliamentary hearings. The question is who is going to delegate them to take part in the legislative discussion. In any case, there is a very interesting debate in store…

While writing these lines, I caught myself thinking that it must have been a great gift from Mother Nature that animals, due to the lack of intellect, cannot follow human suit. I can imagine the consequences if animals too could decide who to couple with. The mankind could face starvation. God forbid!

Before putting pen to paper, I suspected that maybe the world is not at all getting crazy and I myself may be the problem. So I asked my next of kin whether they could observe any psychiatric disorders in me. I am bound to say that no one, except probably my mother-in-law, answered positively. Then I went to see a world-famous psychiatric doctor Nadir Ismayilov, who too said nothing serious was the matter with me. So probably the world is getting crazy.
