PAKISTAN APPOINTS NEW AMBASSADOR
Mr. Muhammad Faiz Khoso has been appointed as Pakistan's ambassador to Azerbaijan. The diplomat is expected to arrive in Baku shortly, according to a diplomatic source.
Pakistan's previous ambassador Ms Asma Anisa left Azerbaijan in early May at the end of her diplomatic mission.
BSEC PMs TO GET TOGETHER
Prime ministers of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization are expected to meet in Istanbul late May-early June to focus on opportunities of economic cooperation within the organization. The heads of government are expected to discuss organizational issues and the 2001 budget.
Arthur Rasizadeh will represent Azerbaijan at the meeting.
CIS PREMIERS' MEETING AGENDA READY
The meeting of CIS Prime Ministers, due in Minsk on May 31, is expected to focus on the program of CIS development till the year 2005. Prime Ministers will also review the mechanism of a free trade zone, ways of eliminating obstacles in international transports, etc. A source from the Cabinet of Ministers told Azernews Monday that after being discussed by PMs, the issues will be in the focus of CIS presidents on June 1.
