BANKRUPT ENTERPRISES TO BE PRIVATIZED
A meeting of the permanent commission of the Milli Mejlis on economic policy discussed Thursday a draft law on amending the legislation in view of application of the law "On privatization of state property".
The Commission focused on article 4 of the 1997 law on bankruptcy. Head of the legal department of the Ministry of State Property Elchin Nadirov said in the beginning the law didn't concern privatization, which has complicated privatization of bankrupt state enterprises. Chairman of the commission Sattar Safarov added that bankrupt enterprises are still an obstacle in the way of the privatization program.
Commission members spoke in favor of privatizing bankrupt enterprises with prior announcing them as bankrupt.
LAND ARREARS TO BE WRITTEN OFF
The permanent commission of the Milli Mejlis on agrarian policy discussed a presidential letter suggesting to amend the law "On land reform" Thursday.
The letter says that in an effort to establish an order in land registration and use and to improve the social situation of land-users, the population's arrears for plots sold from municipalities should be written off.
The commission approved the suggestion.
