PROBLEMS OF MEDICINE PRODUCERS ON AGENDA

The 8th Russian National Congress "Human being and medicines" has been held in Moscow as Azerbaijan was represented by deputy minister for public health Elsevar Aghayev.

According to him, the Congress, dedicated to the quality of medicines and their impact on human health, was attended by renowned specialists from many parts of the world.

Mr. Aghayev also attended a World Health Organization seminar, which focused on setting up database on medicines that have adverse effect. Such a center currently operates in Russia, while in Azerbaijan preparations are underway for this purpose, he said.

This is expected to facilitate problems of drug producers, Mr. Aghayev concluded.

US DOCTORS SHARING EXPERIENCE

9 renowned US doctors have been delivering lectures at the State Medical University since April 9. The purpose of the visit is to share medical innovations with Azeri colleagues and become familiar with public health problems in Azerbaijan. US doctors are expected to return home on April 15.

PEDIATRICIANS TO ATTEND INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM

The 5th international symposium dedicated to mother and child problems is due in Katovitse, Poland, on May 10-11, according to the director of the scientific research institute of pediatrics Nasib Guliyev.

The objective of the event is to analyze the existing mother and child problems and ways of their solution. Azerbaijan will be represented by professors Adila Namazova and Nasib Guliyev, and a Ministry of Health representative Tahira Afandiyeva.
