CAUCASUS, BALKAN CONFLICTS ON AGENDA
Ways of resolving conflicts in the Caucasus and Balkans, in particular in Macedonia and Upper Garabagh, were discussed at the 11th Antalya conference lately, says secretary of the Musavat party on political contacts Sulhaddin Akbar, who attended the conference.
Mr. Akbar also traveled to Ankara on the invitation of the Nationalist Movement Party (NMP) and met with its leader Devlet Bahcali to talk over ways of expanding cooperation between Musavat and NMP, as well as Musavat chairman Isa Gambar's forth-coming visit to Turkey.

DEMCONGRESS DISCUSSES GARABAGH PROSPECTS
A meeting of the Democratic Congress Mejlis on Saturday focused on socio-political situation in Azerbaijan and prospects of the Garabagh talks, chairman of the Musavat party Isa Gambar told a news conference.
I. Gambar added that although the DemCongress Mejlis had functioned earlier too, it would become different. It will include some 150 people, two parties (PFPA and Musavat) will each delegate 33 people, while four other parties will send 11 each, he said.

OPPOSITION GATHERS AT ROUND-TABLE
Regional branches of Musavat, PFPA, ADP, PNIA, and Adalat parties met in Azerbaijan's western province of Aghstafa last Wednesday to conduct a round-table entitled "Garabagh problem and ways of its solution".
Participants adopted a resolution describing as expedient the conflict resolution on the basis of UN SC resolutions. The meeting announced that it would be wrong to provide Upper Garabagh with a status of autonomy and that Armenians can live on the territory only as citizens of the Azerbaijan Republic.
The meeting called on political parties to relinquish their political interests and boost inter-party cooperation for the sake of the settlement of the conflict, a statement from the Musavat party said Thursday.

"VAHDAT" CONGRESS DELAYING
Pre-congress regional conferences of the "Vahdat" party finished long ago, but a date of the congress has yet to be set as the party keeps seeking space, according to the deputy chairman of the party Tofiq Jafarov.
"A lease payment of $2,000 has been asked for the Shahriyar conference hall, which is unaffordable for us", he said. Nevertheless, Mr. Jafarov said the issue would be resolved shortly.

DEMCONGRESS CONDEMNS AUTHORITIES
The Mejlis of the Democratic Congress held a 4.5-hour meeting Saturday, presided by the chairman of the PFPA conservative wing Mirmahmud Fattayev. The meeting focused on the socio-political situation in the country, the Garabagh problem and ways of its settlement.
The Mejlis adopted 5 resolutions and a nationwide address. The documents will be divulged for press after they are changed and amended by meeting participants.
The address condemns the inactive position of the authorities in the Garabagh issue. Authors of the document says the talks will lead to a defeatist peace.

ARMENIANS OPTIMISTIC
Statements by OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs concerning considerable progress in the Key West peace talks, as well as optimistic utterances by some Armenian politicians, are very alarming, the Musavat chairman Isa Gambar told a news conference following a meeting of the DemCongress Board Monday.
Mr. Gaübar reiterated that DemCongress would not recognize an agreement hurting national interests, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

MUSAVAT DEMANDS FREEDOM FOR GARABAGH DISABLED
Keeping of 6 6 Garabagh disabled in police custody represents a crime, says a statement adopted by the Musavat party Monday.
Members of the party's board demand an end to such treatment of warriors who became disabled while fighting for national statehood.
