 | Co-op with Saudi Arabia expanding |
In the late hours on February 21, President Aliyev received the delegation of Saudi Arabia led by Royal Transport Minister Usama Ibn Jafar aj-Faghi. The distinguished guest indicated that since his first visit to Azerbaijan in 1994 in the capacity of director of the Islamic Development Bank, tremendous progress has been achieved in Azerbaijan.
“The cooperation has become more organized thanks to the bilateral commission that My. Ayyubov and I are co-chairing”, Mr. al-Faghi said. H. Aliyev pointed out the involvement of Saudi “Delta” company in a number of oil projects in Azerbaijan, saying that Saudi businessmen can also participate in other economic spheres.
“Once the joint economic commission has been set up, we are embarking on a new stage in cooperation”, the President stated and expressed a fervent hope that the commission, which first met on February 20, would work more actively toward enhancing economic relations between the two countries.
On the following day, the Saudi delegation was also received by prime Minister A. Rasizadeh.*
