Azerbaijan becomes COE member

The COE Council of Ministers meeting in Paris Wednesday approved Azerbaijan's acceptance to the organization, President's office said Thursday.
The decision to admit Azerbaijan represents an assessment of the international community to the democratic transformations underway in Azerbaijan.
The Council has also decided to conduct an official ceremony in Strasbourg on the occasion of Azerbaijan's admission. The Azerbaijan national flag will be hoisted outside the COE head-office and national anthem of Azerbaijan played. Afterwards, President Aliyev is expected to deliver a speech concerning the landmark event.*
