 | PNIA opposed to a trial |
The trial of those arrested in street clashes with police in Shaki on November 18, including chairman of a local PNIA division Farzali Gasimov, will be held in Mingachevir, according to the party.
Despite appeals from the arrests and their next of kin, protests from opposition and human right organizations, the authorities have not permitted to hold the trial in Shaki proper. This will require some 200 witnesses, tens of victims and relatives of the suspects to move to Mingachevir for a while. PNIA maintains that moving the trial outside Shaki is a harbinger of yet another ordered trial.*
