Light industry development program postponed

The implementation of the light industry development program, prepared by specialists at the Cabinet of Ministry has been put off for time unknown.
A source at the Ministry of Economics told AssA-Irada Wednesday that budget funds, previously allotted for the implementation, will now be spent on the relief of the November 25 earthquake in Baku.
The program envisions comprehensive measures to be taken for restoration of over 30% of light industry enterprises in Azerbaijan. It should be reminded that only 6 out of 76 light industry enterprises are currently in operation. These are engaged in executing orders by the Ministry of Defense and some German and US companies.*
