Security joins MEP engineering

The Georgian Ministry for National Security is currently working in cooperation with the engineering group of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan MEP, security minister Vakhtang Kutetevadze told AssA-Irada Tuesday. While selecting the site for the would-be pipeline, its security is also taken into account, he said.

According to him, some endeavored to blow up the Baku-Supsa oil pipeline last year. However, the attempts were intercepted by the Georgian law enforcement bodies, Mr. Kutetevadze said. These subversive activities, as he believes, aims at discouraging stability in Georgia and crippling implementation of the BTC project. But, the law enforcement of Georgia is successfully coping with the task imposed, he concluded.*
