14 seismic stations to operate in 2003
The installation of 14 seismic stations across the country that will operate from January of 2003 is completing, according to deputy director of the National Center of Seismic Services under the Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan Qurban Yetirmisli.
The latest batch of the equipment produced by US Kinematics were brought from the US Tuesday. The seismic stations will be installed in 14 regions, including Lankaran, Calilabad, Quba, Salyan, Samaxi, Ismayilli and other Districts of the country, where mountings have been already completed, while installation led by the US specialists in Baku is underway.
The Azerbaijani government has allocated 1,625,000 manat for the purchase of equipment.*
