Siemens to join BTC project

World famous German Siemens is expected to join the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan main export oil pipeline project, the company's spokesman for CIS states Andrey Kuznetsov told AssA-Irada Saturday.

Having won a tender, the German giant is determined to provide the construction of the Turkish stretch of the pipeline with necessary telecommunications systems.

Mr. Kuznetsov said that the terms of the bidding for telecommunications provision of the BTC pipeline in Azerbaijan and Georgia had been prolonged.

Siemens hopes the tender winners will be announced soon, as being the project operator, bp is the company's cooperative customer and is aware of its quality operations.*
