Religious Committee unhappy with spiritual schools
The State Committee on Religious Entities has registered 135 religious communities to date and is currently investigating the documents and regulations of other 100 communities. Some 20 registered religious communities are Christian, according to chairman of the committee Rafiq Aliyev.
On the attestation of mullahs, Mr. Aliyev said it is the order of the society. The State Committee will organize attestation by the Caucasus Clerical Board.
R. Aliyev also underlined the committee had proposed to reform education in madrasas, religious schools, and reconsider their regulations. He expressed dissatisfaction with these schools, where no secular sciences are taught.*
