Nowhere else in the world is underground so cheap as in Baku (AZM250, or 5 cents), chief of the Baku Underground Taghi Ahmadov.
As an example, he referred to the Moscow and St. Petersburg underground, which cost around 50 cents, the Istanbul tube, which cost even more (65 cents).
According to him, the underground needs the subsidy of AZM124.4 billion, with just AZM10 billion being allotted. Last year was completed with a loss of AZM45 billion. In one months alone, the underground losses AZM675 million because of the disadvantaged.*
