The Milli Mejlis adopted the law "On amending the law on state secret", which was approved in 1996.
According to the chairman of the permanent commission on defense and security issues Ziyafat Asgarov, relevant executive power bodies are in charge of preventing the spread of state secrets in mass media. Each media outlet is individually responsible for disseminating state secrets.*
