Parliament to convene for spring session

The Milli Majlis, Azerbaijan’s parliament, is expected to hold its spring session from February 1 till May 31. The legislative authority will focus on drafts “On corruption” and “On the protection of the state language” for the second reading and “On education” in the first reading.

The parliament passed bills “On media”, “On ombudsman” and ratified the Convention on the Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms during its fall session as part of the country’s commitments to the Council of Europe.*
