 | Renowned seismologist predict new earthquakes |
New earthquakes are expected in the north-western and north-central parts of the republic, described as seismically the most active, in May, August and November, president of the international science and technical center "Intergeotetis" Elchin Khalilov told AssA-Irada Monday.
According to him, the earthquakes taking place all over the world are closely interconnected. Mr. Khalilov said several months ago he had predicted the 8-point earthquakes in northern Afghanistan and in the south of Central Asia.
Mr. Khalilov said he had sent proposals on precautionary measures in case of another earthquake and written a book, "What is to be done before, during and after an earthquake", to be printed in 1 million copies, 100,000 of which have already been published.
"If the population is more informed of the issue, potential damage will reduce", the autinks.*
