 | What do children think? |
The UNICEF has recently completed a survey among children and teenagers in 35 European and Central Asian countries, including Azerbaijan. The poll, "Young voices", covered over 15,000 children aged between 9 and 17. Hundreds of interviewers were asking children questions during the 2-month survey, mainly about their opinion about the government, what they know about their rights, if they are subject to violence at home, at school or in the society, etc.
The outcomes of the survey provide an excellent opportunity for politicians, parents and people working with children to become familiar with the thoughts and feelings of the children of the early 21st century. Voices of children have been recorded to be played back at a special UN session for problems of children due in New York in September, UNICEF Baku branch reported Saturday.*
