Assassins of academician sentenced for life

On Wednesday, the Grave Crimes Court pronounced the sentence for those convicted of murdering the Academician Ziya Bunyadov. The court, presided by Anvar Seyidov, provided irrefutable evidence to the murder by the criminal gang on February 21, 1997, which was perpetrated at the academician’s doorstep. The gang was also convicted of illegal possession of guns, trespassing the Azeri-Iranian border and establishment of an armed detachment. Also proven has been the fact that the group murdered Ziya Bunyadov on the instruction of “Hezbollah” terrorist organization.

Direct executors of the murder Nizami Naghiyev and Mahir Zeynalov have been sentenced to life in prison, while 5 other members of the gang have been sentenced to 10 to 14 years of incarceration.*
