Science conference on so-called Armenian genocide held

The society of international solidarity of Azeri youth of the world and the foundation for assistance to young people conducted a science conference on the so-called Armenian genocide issue at Europe Hotel Wednesday. President of the society Tofiq Alizadeh, in his opening remarks, said a number of European parliaments had raised the issue of Armenian genocide, that Armenian lobby aspires to damage the political image of Turkey and the entire Turkic world by distorting history.
Director of the Institute of International Relations Vagif Arzumanli, president of the foundation for assistance to young people Nedim Kaya, scientists and intellectuals condemned the very fact of discussion of the issue in European parliaments. Based on scientific and historical sources, including archive documents of the Ottoman Empire, they indicated that in 1915-1918 Armenians perpetrated genocide of peaceful residents of Turkey’s northern provinces Van, Erzurum, Kars, etc., as well as of western Azerbaijan, Zangazur and Nakhchivan.
It was stated that European countries turned a blind eye to the atrocities unleashed by Armenians barbarians in Garabagh, especially in Khojali, in 1988-1993.
Azerbaijanis were being exterminated as part of extensive ethnic cleansing and “Great Armenia” (from Black to the Caspian seas) obsession. The speakers stressed that 2.5 million Turks were slain by Armenians in the 20th century alone.
The conference participants saw a documentary film on Armenian brutalities in 1915 and on the genocide in Khojali on February 26, 1992. Besides, lists of Turkish diplomats that fell victim to Armenian terrorism were handed out.
Also in attendance were ambassadors of Egypt and Japan, head of the local representation of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, UN and Turkish embassy officials, MPs, public figures and politicians.
Despite being invited, representatives of Italian, French and Russian embassies did not attend.*
