Forgotten Mughams revitalizing

Azeri Mughams have gained tremendous international popularity. Suffice it to remember the successful European tours of Alim Gasimov and other singers of Mugham and the performance of Mugham in combination with symphonic orchestras.
People's artist, artistic director of the "Mugham" theater Islam Rzayev is trying to revive such long forgotten Mughams as "Abu Ata", "Dugah", "Bayati Turk", and "Ovshari".
According to Mr. Rzayev, he had heard the Mughams sung by his teacher, the unforgettable Seyid Shushinski. "Bayati Turk" and "Ovshari", each consisting of 8-10 parts, have been completely restored.
The restored Mughams will first be performed shortly.*
