LUKoil President awarded Glory order

President Aliyev conferred Russian LUKoil President Vagit Alekperov Azerbaijan’s state award, the “Shohrat” (Glory) order, Friday for his contribution to development of economic relations between Azerbaijan and Russia. President Aliyev stressed that expatriates are seldom awarded this honor. Being a Russian citizen, V. Alekperov was born and educated in Azerbaijan. President Aliyev highly appreciated the activities of the company in Azerbaijan. The President then congratulated LUKoil on its tenth anniversary and voiced satisfaction with its performance in Azerbaijan.

Mr. Alekperov thanked President Aliyev for the award and said he was very proud of being an Azeri national.*
