A handicapped makes suicide attempt in parliament

A parliamentary correspondent of the "Alillar" (The Disabled) newspaper Rey Karimoglu attempted Tuesday to commit a suicide in protest to the continuing indifference of the government to the handicapped.
As the Milli Mejlis was discussing the hunger strike by the disabled on Tuesday, the journalist, enraged by the report of the chairman of the permanent commission on social policy Hadi Rajabli, called the MPs shameless and tried to jump from the balcony elevated 10 meters above the conference hall. His move, however, was prevented by other correspondents also in the balcony.
Later on, while in the lobby, Mr. Karimov managed to cut his veins. After being bandaged, the journalist was rushed to hospital.*
