Hungry handicapped conduct picket

Members of the Society of the Garabagh Handicapped, on hunger strike since January 23 demanding end to their social problems, held a picket in front of the Society Monday. The action started at 2 p.m. and was joined by 300 people.
Protesters said they would not drop the previously announced demands and urged the government to put an end to the slander and blackmail of the Society and its chairman Etimad Asadov. The handicapped confirmed their determination to go on with the strike until their demands are complied.
Chairman of the Society Etimad Asadov says the authorities have shown no signs of reaction to the strike, which has already affected 600 disabled people.*
