Payable medical service contributes to formation of new clinics
Payable medical services were included into the public health system in 1993 and fetched AZM500 million in 1994, nowhere close to AZM64 billion in 2000, minister for public health Ali Insanov told a news conference Friday. AZM10 billion of the amount has been transferred to the Social Security Fund of the Disabled. 5% of the revenues eventually reaches the Health Ministry, which, in turn, has set up several medical institutions. For instance, $3.6 million was spent on the recently established Center for Nuclear and Magnetic Resonance, the minister said.*
