Baku European Tobacco exports a fourth of produced cigarettes
In January-June 2001, the Baku European Tobacco company produced AZM132.4 billion worth of 2,890,000,000 filter cigarettes. Over this time period, 765,000,000 boxes of cigarettes totaling $4,506,025 were exported, a source from the company told AssA-Irada Friday.
6 new cigarette brands – “Vigor Medium”, “Prestige”, “Bahman”, “Nasha Prima M”, “Azeri Full”, and “Azeri Light” – have appeared in the market, bringing the company’s assortment to 22 brands.
In the first 6 months of this year, Baku European Tobacco transferred over AZM40 billion to the state budget and out-of-budget funds, while investment since September 1999 has amounted for $60 million.*
