Iran opposed to redrawing regional borders
Chairman of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Hasan Ruhani, currently in Baku as part of his tour of the Caucasus, was received by Azeri foreign minister Vilayat Guliyev Friday. Indicating that this year will see the 10th anniversary of Iranian-Azerbaijani diplomatic relations, Min. Guliyev voiced a hope that the current visit would serve to further promote them. He said the visit signified Iran’s growing role in the region.
H. Ruhani said Iran considers the Caucasus to be its northern neighbor and advocates for a peac settlement to regional crises. “Iran is opposed to any border changes and it is necessary to achieve peace and stability by all means”, he said.*
