As of December 2000, the number of refugees and IDPs in Azerbaijan constituted 791,824 people. These include 190,743 families, of which 46,172 families (219,373 people) are refugees and 144,571 families (572,451 people) are IDPs.
Refugees and IDPs have been settled in Nakhchivan, in 11 districts of Baku, in Ganja, Sumgayit, Mingachevir, Ali-Bayramli, as well as 17 provinces.*
