 | Inter-parliamentary cooperation committee conducts first meeting |
To date, the European Union has provided Euro 333.3 million worth of assistance to Azerbaijan, Euro 50.5 million worth of operations have been carried out since 1996 as part of the TACIS program, while Euro 16 million worth of projects are currently on agenda.
This was announced by the vice-premier of the Azerbaijan government Abid Sharifov during a meeting of the European Union-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary cooperation committee at Hyatt-Regency Hotel of Baku Monday.
He spoke of the work EU has carried out in Azerbaijan, while the head of the Azerbaijan parliament delegation Asaf Hajiyev dwelt upon the economic situation in the country and the Garabagh problem.
Head of the European parliament delegation Mrs. Ursula Schleischer said the EU was interested in resolving Azerbaijan’s problems.*
