Stock Exchange ceases work

The Azerbaijan Stock Exchange close joint stock company has stopped functioning, after vacating its premises and laying off staff, a source from the State Committee on Securities told AssA-Irada Tuesday.

According to the source, the committee has not yet received any written or verbal appeals from the Exchange. Neither has it been possible to get in touch with it for a comment. It will soon be decided whether to retain or revoke the exchange’s license.

While in operation, the Exchange didn’t execute any sale or purchase transactions, while, the dismissal of staff and sale of equipment show that the Exchange, an alleged rival of the Baku Stock Exchange, has ceased to exist.*
