 | Opposition parties mark seizure of Shusha |
The “Day of Shusha” action was held in the Alley of Martyrs on the 9th anniversary of the occupation of Shusha on the initiative of the “Freedom to Garabagh” organization.
The action began with paying tribute to those who have perished for Azerbaijan’s independence and ended with a demonstration. Speakers suggested that May 8 be announced as the Day of occupied territories, condemned the proposals of the OSCE Minsk Group and demanded that only UN SC resolutions be taken into consideration in resolving the Upper Garabagh conflict. It was also demanded that the authorities officially announce, at least at the level of the Milli Mejlis, that they would not sign any document hurting the interests of Azerbaijan. “There is no Azerbaijan without Shusha and Lachin”, the protesters said.
Representative of Musavat, both wings of the PFPA, People’s Party, ALP, ADP, Adalat, Vahdat, Geyrat and other parties took part.*
