Software market to expand

A Non-Governmental Organization “Galajak Namina” (“In the name of the future”) has embarked on implementation of the “Regional network and training sessions for computer programmers” project in cooperation with UNESCO. Since the project is regional, it is also underway in other Caucasus countries, according to a spokesman for the NGO Kamil Aliyev.
According to him, as part of the project the NGO will provide programmers with the opportunity of improving their skills and reaching out to international markets. This, in turn, will expand the investment inflow in Azerbaijan, raise software products to international standards and eventually lead to better living standards of the population.
The key objective of the project is to prevent the exodus of highly-qualified professionals from the republic and to encourage them with work in the domestic market. The project also envisions establishment of a database on computer firms.
The NGO will be conducting seminars, training sessions and public meetings for local programmers involving qualified professionals.*
